The “consumerization” of healthcare, OR, the rise of the Self Pay patient

Health care is changing rapidly.  Lack of doctors participating in Covered California, high deductible insurance plans, expansion of MediCal in California, and plans charging higher copays are causing high costs, lack of access, and unsatisfying patient experiences.  At Associated Urologists of Orange County, we welcome all patients as valued customers.

Whether you find yourself without insurance, you are seeking a second opinion outside your current insurance network such as Kaiser, or narrow provider networks like Covered California have made it difficult for you to find a doctor who takes your insurance, we are happy to accept patients who will be paying directly for their care at Associated Urologists of Orange County.

We offer discounted fees for self paying patients who pay in full for their services at the time of their appointment.  Our discounted cash prices for doctor visits and in-office procedures are comparable to the discounted rates that most PPO insurance plans have negotiated.

If you need outpatient surgery, our relationship with La Veta Surgical Center has enabled us to get the lowest rates for our self paying patients.
